How it works

One day, three steps

Matuvu works from what already happened in your day. Here is the whole mechanism, start to finish.

Someone catches your eye

The two of you are in the same place at the same moment, and Matuvu adds them to today's list. Nothing is sent to either of you at that point, and nobody is notified.

You mark them seen

One photo per person, enough to recognise the face you saw. One tap if you would like to talk. It sends nothing on its own, and you never find out whether they looked back.

Both of you, or neither

If they marked you too, a conversation opens and it stays for as long as you both want it. If not, the look disappears with the rest of the day and tomorrow starts empty.

What the app never does

It never tells them you looked
Marking someone seen is silent. Only a mutual seen produces anything at all.
It never keeps a history of your movements
Looks expire after 24 hours instead of accumulating into a record of where you have been.
It never sorts the list for you
The list is who was there, in the order the day happened.

Did you see me?
